MLB is also available for free in Germany
Apple added sporting events to its in-house video streaming portfolio this year. Some American Major League Baseball (MLB) games can be watched via TV+. From now on, customers in Germany will also have the chance to take advantage of Apple’s “Friday Night Baseball” offer. However, due to the time difference, users in this country have to stay up late: on Friday to Saturday nights, Apple TV+ shows the Tigers game against the Blue Jays. Then there are Cubs vs Giants.

If you want to watch content on TV+, you usually need a subscription to the service. According to its own statements, Apple is broadcasting baseball games “free of charge for a short period of time.” So the games – at least for the time being – are free to watch. Apple is already using a similar tactic with some series, where even an episode is available for free to pique viewers’ interest – and thus to induce them to pay for a subscription.

Customers can watch Major League Baseball games live through the TV+ app or website. Commentary is in English. Including game times are listed in the “Friday Night Baseball” section. Tigers vs Blue Jays starts at 12:25 German time. Baseball fans will have to wait a long time for the Cubs vs. Giants game, with the clash starting at 3:25 a.m. It is not known how long TV+ will be airing Major League Baseball games for free.

New Gmail web view activated by more users
Google has been planning to modernize the Gmail web view for some time. After the search engine giant initially made the “Material U” design available as a selectable version, automatic conversion is now in full swing. More and more German users are also noticing the new design when they visit the Gmail website.

The web view is to be optionally modernized and operated more intuitively by the new design. Changes include a pale blue background in varying color strengths. Plus, the email inbox is visually more prominent than it used to be. Since Google often activates new features in batches, it may take some time before the new design is finally activated. If the new “Material You” look isn’t yet available to users in a Gmail account, a little patience is needed—but it shouldn’t be long.
